It cannot be
that I can see
what others try to hide
I will not let
that I’ll upset
until you lie beside
For what is far
and far beyond
tomorrow claims to be
Today I feign
for what I aim
is lucid in my dreams
Gaze toward the
far horizon –
I hear the others say
Yet no matter what
the future holds
start living day to day
Yesterday is
but regret that’s
left behind as well
Tomorrow is
but fiction now -
a story yet to tell
It cannot be
that I can feel
what others leave behind
Lucy’s star in sky -
with diamonds now -
is where I stand beside.

With my head in the sky and my wings in the air, I try to spend my spare time at the footy (AFL in Australia) Go Pies! – and valuable hours with family and friends. Otherwise I’ll have pen in hand and notebook at the ready for those insightful snippets that dream up a poem.
I contribute to Cosmofunnel where you’ll find a guided universe of poetry and art.
