I knew her from when I was young -
The campground and the fair
Her smile was to cherish – like her
Full bright love and care
We never fought in all the time -
Our friendship so surreal
We’d catch up all but twice a year
And still our love was real
‘twas like I’d seen her yesterday -
Enriched my life became
Her painting always on my wall -
Remembrance of her name
Seven decades and the rest -
Our friendship knew no bounds
But it knew that memories stand the test -
Everlasting and profound.
