Inner glow

I was thinking

About something

I’d forgotten

Long before

It wandered

In my mind that morn’

Like it had been

In store

It came to pass

I raised my glass

And took a sip

To say

That everything

And anything

Would flow from it

Reflected in

The glass revealed

A woman’s

Supple face

And with a start

No time to grasp

Her splendour

Or her grace

Our hands would clasp

Our eyes would stare

Our toes entwined

Beauty –

Beaming warmth –

An inner glow.
