I lived a life of merriment
Within my mind –
Spinning back and forth
And up and down –
The inner world of fortitude
With solitude beyond –
My window spoke and shared
My thoughts – subverted –
The drawer held life-like feelings
Lost – diverted –
Felicity and sweet parades
And boats out of the harbour –
A king tide will capsize them
And make the easy – harder –
And yet I caught the feather In the air
and felt all manner changing –
The feather – black and white
In silken form – took pleasure – rearranging –
And brought a scene from window pane
With sunshine’s joy – untethered –
But for despair – we’d share the air
(And merriment) – together
