nothing more

They came to be my sole relief
the one with wonder - without grief
that ever one would seek

And once I came to understand
the gravitas - the strewn land
it all became complete

How one's virtue stood the test
directing one to what was best
and leaving worse behind

In a world where birds will sing
once rain has gone and warmth can bring
a smile sure to find

Like the one I saw beside the fern
who smiled sweetly, and in return
wanted nothing for

It was pure joy - at one - complete
as satisfied as one could be
and asking nothing more.
