It wasn’t what he’d thought it was
And never would it be
The ease with which his mortal self
The ease with which he’d see
Tomorrow turn to yesteryear
And yesterday to now
And when they turned he held her hand
And whispered with a vow
A vow that would see them become
A couplet - ever stronger
A vow that would last through the years
And bring them love for longer
And with the thunder and the storm
The wind became a bluster
The days they passed them all the more
Without trouble fuss or fluster
But when the time it came to test
The essence of forgiveness
They'd stay the test – be timeless yet
A lesson to attest us

With my head in the sky and my wings in the air, I try to spend my spare time at the footy (AFL in Australia) Go Pies! – and valuable hours with family and friends. Otherwise I’ll have pen in hand and notebook at the ready for those insightful snippets that dream up a poem.
I contribute to Cosmofunnel where you’ll find a guided universe of poetry and art.
